Planning.. a couple of BIG events, all at the same time.. it’s a little overwhelming, to be honest! First, Josh’s family is going to Disney World later this month, so there’s been a lot of planning involved with that. I feel like it’s all Josh ever talks about, haha. We’re also planning a big meet-up in Nashville with our Patreon supporters this summer, and it’s insane how many people are going to travel in for the event! I can’t wait to meet them all in person, but there are a lot of details to iron out: who is sleeping where, what activities to plan for the group, what/where/how much we’re going to eat, how to best get ready for having that many people in our home.. etc. Thankfully, we’ve got some great Planner personalities in our Patreon group, and they’re helping us figure things out. I don’t know what we’d do without them (shoutout to Abbie specifically, because she is the queen of Google Spreadsheets).
Watching.. today, I’m babysitting my friend Emily‘s sweet daughter Belle for a few hours. We watched Daniel Tiger, had a picnic outside, and took silly videos together. Emily is home now, so I’m finishing up this post on my phone while she puts Belle down for her nap.
Wearing.. my new Hufflepuff sweatshirt! A friend gave it to me last week and I’ve been wearing it almost every day since. I LOVE it. Thanks, Hannah! My Dad made fun of me on Sunday for being a nerd, but if I were a nerd I’d be in Ravenclaw, DAD. I may have just proved his point though, haha.
Designing.. yesterday, I spent a couple hours tweaking my site design and I’m really excited about the way it turned out! I’ve felt like the site was under construction since I started, so it’s nice to have a site that I’m happy with. The only thing I really want to add is a “Blogs I Love” page.
Thankful for.. my kind and intelligent friend Kirby. She is the most encouraging person I know, and she does it in a way that’s so personalized and specific (and sometimes delightfully weird), that you just believe her. Have you ever had the experience of being complimented by someone, and it makes you feel good, but part of you wonders if they really believe it? I’ve literally never doubted any piece of encouragement or kindness that has come from Kirby. Her blog post from today is also very good, entitled Choose Your Critic. It’s about riding the line between the sayings “you are your own worst critic” and “don’t care so much about what others think of you.” Go read that and then read the rest of the her blog because it is chock full of wisdom.
I’m also thankful for toddler hugs, grapefruit juice for breakfast, our sweet friend at Disney World who is hooking us up with that discount, naturally organized people who are willing to help those of us that get overwhelmed, and Snuggies (I know they’re lame but I don’t care!).
What about you? What are you planning, watching, wearing, designing, and/or thankful for this week?
