It’s becoming a trend for me to feel super drained on Mondays, but I’ve been able to be productive through the lethargy today. Last week was really busy (and this week promises to be even more busy, eesh), but I noticed that I was able to keep up better than I would’ve in the past. I think it’s because of the goals I made last Monday! Getting better sleep, cutting out sugar, and staying hydrated – I don’t have to explain why these would improve my overall energy. I’m pleased with how I’m progressing.
As far as working out goes… I’m still not a fan. I believe you people who say it makes you feel great, but I don’t understand you. It makes me feel like crap! Sigh. I’ve gotta just override my emotions in this instance and keep trying; keep looking for a kind of exercise that will work for me. Because I know that it will improve my life in the long run.
A quick note: I don’t believe in beating myself up for not being perfect, so I’m grading my progress based on attitude and effort, because that’s what matters when you’re trying to create a habit! If I improved in any way, I’m giving myself points. Ok, on to the grades:
1. Exerciese at least 3 times: B
I exercised twice, which is twice as much as I’ve exercised in one week, for… ages. So that’s a win. At least I did something.
2. No Added Sugar: A-
I did eat desserts yesterday at a Super Bowl party, but I’m not marking too much off my grade because I planned to do that.. it wasn’t an impulse decision, and I was able to limit myself, which means that I can control myself. I can do this!
3. Drink a half gallon of water each day: A-
I made it to 64 ounces of water 4 of the days, and the other three days I got about 3/4 of the way there. The whole point was to be more intentional about my water intake, so I’m considering this a success.
4. In bed by 10, awake by 9: A
I thought this was going to be a lot harder than it ended up being. I was awake before 9 every morning, and the only two nights I wasn’t in bed by 10 was because we were out and about. Another success, yay!
Finish reorganizing closet (make-up work from previous week): F
Even though I see my closet about a dozen times a day, I completely forgot about this goal until I sat down to write today’s post. Whoops!
This week, I’m going to repeat my goals from last week. They say it takes a few weeks to form a habit, so I’m gonna keep going.. one day I will get there.
