Q&A pt 1: Favorites

Last weekend, I put out a call on Twitter and Facebook for questions so I could do a Q&A post. I got so many more than I expected! There were more than 50! I’d like to get to all of them eventually, but I decided to break it up and group similar questions together. So this is part 1 of 3: All the “favorites” questions. I’ll answer the pop culture questions and the personal questions sometime in the next couple of weeks.

What’s your favorite kind of animal? Also, if you could be an animal, which would you choose to be? -Nia
I think I like cats most of all, but I also really like dogs, and I have a distant appreciation for anything that’s exotic and/or colorful. If I could be any animal, I’d choose a bird. Who wouldn’t like to fly!

Do you prefer… Chocolate or vanilla? Sweet or salty? Hot or cold? Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter? City or country? -Nia
Chocolate, sweet, cold, Autumn, and country 🙂

Do you have a favorite number? Color? Do you prefer morning or night? -Juana
I don’t really have a favorite number – maybe 3? My favorite color is teal. And I like the way the morning feels, but I would rather sleep in, so I prefer night for actually doing things.

What kind of weather makes you happiest? -Emily
The kind of weather you get in the first few days of Fall: crisp and cool with a slight breeze.

What’s your favorite hobby? What have you always wanted to learn? What was your dream job as a child? -Katie
I like blogging a lot as a hobby! I also enjoy taking pictures, but I don’t do it very often anymore. I’ve always wanted to learn yoga and how to knit, but I just haven’t taken the time. When I was a child I wanted to be a singer! But I was never very passionate about it.

Favorite movie, book, TV show? -Georgia
Movie: I can’t choose! I have my “stock answers” in Gattaca and Memoirs of a Geisha, but I don’t think those are my favorites anymore. Maybe an updated list would be The Force Awakens and Short Term 12.
Book: The Princess Bride  or The Book Thief or Me Before You
TV show: LOST or Breaking Bad

What’s you favorite thing about the Internet/least favorite thing? Twitter or Facebook? -Georgia
I like that the internet connects people who would never know each other otherwise, and I like that I have access to viewpoints and opinions I otherwise would never get to see. My least favorite thing is being open to judgement and empty praise from people who don’t understand or actually care about me. And in my opinion, Twitter is so much better than Facebook.

What’s your sad food? -Nathan
Pirate’s Booty (white cheddar puffs) and milk chocolate.

What are you favorite foods? -Micah
It changes, but right now it’s avocado, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut. And this coconut kefir yogurt I asked my mom in law to pick up for me from Whole Foods – holy moly, it’s delicious!

I need to know what your favorite sandwich is. -Olivia
Either the BLT or Rueben.

What is one of your favorite Bible verses? -Sue
1 John 4:18

What is your favorite book? What is your favorite pastime? What is your least favorite question that people ask a lot? -Karolyne
My favorite book is a tie between The Book Thief and The Princess Bride. My favorite pastime? Idk, I like reading and watching TV. Maybe my favorite pastime is stories. My least favorite question that people ask a lot… hm. Well, I hate it when people ask about why I haven’t had kids yet, but I know they mean well so I try not to hold it against them 🙂

That’s it for round one! See y’all tomorrow.

  1. The Princess Bride is probably the only book I read in my high school years. It is crazy how the movie cuts out so much story, right? I think the book is so sad though at times. I loved it though.

I always think the kid question is rude and none of people’s business. Although I do have two sons, many many people ask me all the time, “When are you going to have a little girl?” or “Don’t you think it is time to have another child?” and “You trying for a girl yet?” . . .gah!!!! It is like, “Get out of my bedroom business!” and sometimes I want to be snide and reply, “For the past 5 years we’ve been trying every single night to have a third child, okay? It is not like I can pop out babies on demand to your desires.” but then I realize that isn’t nice so I just either ignore them or say, “In God’s timing.”
