Chasing an A for Vitamin D

Last week’s goal:

1. Work on a meal plan of healing foods and start implementing it: A
I’ve been very intentional about what I eat this week, including lots of probiotic-rich sauerkraut & coconut kefir, fatty avocados, nutrient-dense bone broth, cooked carrots, etc. Eating healthy is always a little easier and tastier than I expect it to be when I’m first getting back into it.. as long as I stick to the plan! This time, I’m determined.

 This week’s goals:

1. Keep eating whole, probiotic-rich, and healing foods
I’ve started down a path of healthy-eating this past week, and I’d like to keep up my momentum.

2. Practice training with Lulu
We’re going to pick Lulu up from the trainer’s this afternoon, and our dog trainer friend will go over with us what Lulu has learned all week and teach us how to continue that training and encourage good behavior at home. I hate to admit this, but I’m nervous about bringing Lulu back into the house. I’m not 100% sure why. I feel like she will either be super well-behaved after a week of Abigail not letting her get away with anything, or she’ll be a little rebellious and try to stretch the boundaries with us since she knows what she’s gotten away with in the past. I’m hoping for the former.

3. Go outside for ~15 min every day
I need to get myself some vitamin D! Maybe I’ll break in the hammock and do some reading outside this week.

  1. 1. Keep going! You’ve got this. 🙂
    2. Take heart. You and Lulu and Josh are going to get along just fine. I’ll be praying about it.
    3. Sunshine (and Vitamin D) really is the best.. A few weeks ago, I was daydreaming at work about how nice it would be to go home, get a blanket and a book, and lay out in the sunshine reading with my dog on her leash next to me. I daydream about that a lot, but I rarely do it — I end up getting home and doing chores or some other “essential” task and don’t let myself relax. But that day, I did go home, put out a blanket, grabbed a book and a pillow, and ended up reading in the sunshine for a few hours with my dog. It was heaven. Sometimes you just have to be intentional about indulging in something like that to make it happen. It’s good for you!

  2. Man, every time I see your posts about eating healthy/healing foods reminds me that I need to do the same haha. Great job for making a plan and sticking to it! I’ve been trying to do it for myself for months but college is really getting in the way. My poor digestive system and nutrient levels are suffering from it 😦 My plan is to really take healthy eating head-on after I graduate in a couple weeks! Thank you for your inspiring posts and keep it up!

    • I totally understand that life gets in the way of eating healthy. Like, I feel that on a spiritual level, haha. It’s not always easy. But I believe in you! You can do it! Even small choices make a difference! Good luck 🙂

      • Haha yeah. Thank you! I’m slowly able to take small steps toward where I want to be, so that’s good. And best of luck to you as you stick with your plan!
