3 Random Songs I’ve Had Stuck in My Head

Do you ever catch yourself singing or humming a song and think, “that’s random; I haven’t heard this song in ages”? That happens to me all the time. Here are three songs that keep popping into my head this week:

A Dark Design by Among Savages
I love this song. To me, it feels both sad and hopeful at the same time. I think it came to mind because of all the fighting and debating about politics I’ve seen on Facebook. (So. tired. of. politics.) But I say Amen to this lyric: “I’d rather live with you as my friend /Than someone that I was trying to condemn.”

Place In This World by Michael W. Smith
Talk about a blast from the past, right?! Such a classic.

Bird Song by Tessa Violet
I’ve shared this video/song on the blog already, but the tune is still floating around my brain a month later. I love whistling the bird parts.

What song(s) keeps popping into your head out of the blue this week?

  1. Tessa’s Bird Song is so good 🙂 I just became a patron of her (and you guys!) this week so I was thrilled to get the download of it. It’s been on repeat in my playlist!

I’m also loving songs on Tessa’s friend Dodie’s channel – especially Bring it all Back, it’s so catchy!

I went to a Josh Groban concert on Tuesday so songs off his newest album like Try to Remember and Les Temps Des Cathedrals keep popping into my head.

  2. part of the debates and fighting that people do on facebook is why I don’t have a facebook (and haven’t for a year and a half). Every time I had posted stuff in the past people would fight others they didn’t even know on my page and many would say, “Is this what you think, Victoria? I don’t want to be associated with someone who has this mentality. It isn’t a ‘Christian’ standard.” or something like that. :: sigh :: I guess that is why I find humor and enjoy the Blimey Cow videos on politics. They make me chuckle because of how dead on they are. haha.

I like that first song. Very nice. The lyrics are lovely and the song is pretty.

I never listened to Michael W. Smith on my own. I blame my brothers for playing Christian death metal and Christian punk around me as a child in the 80s and early 90s. I DO however recall this song played in a McGee and Me VHS or something maybe? The Twister one? Not sure if you even know the McGee and Me series. . .Maybe it was used in one of those Christian plays at the church I attended as a child. I remember the chorus. I didn’t know he had electric guitar solos in his songs until now.

You posted the Bird song at another point too and I like it. It was nice to watch it again. 🙂

I’ve been listening to The Ember Days’ “Run to You” a lot lately. Let me know what you think of it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m4Kt0z6WJg
