We’ve finally reached the final set of questions. Here’s part three – all the personal questions y’all asked. (links to parts 1 & 2 will be at the end of this post)
What is your favorite birthday memory? -Grace
One time an Aunt made me a Barbie doll birthday cake where the cake was the Barbie’s dress. I don’t remember how old I was – I think 4 or 5 – but that was just the coolest thing to me. I also really enjoyed my 24th birthday, when we ran into a couple from out of town at our favorite burger place who knew us from Blimey Cow. We ended up having dinner with them and had a lot in common! It was cool.
Do you plan on having kids with Josh? -Fr. Stephen
Yep. But there are many differences between our plans and God’s plans.. I don’t know what will happen.
What is the scariest thing you have ever done? Are you glad you did it? -Sarah
There are many scary things I’ve done that I didn’t have a choice about doing.. when my Dad was in the hospital last year, I had to step up and take care of both of my parents when neither of them were capable of being in charge. That was the scariest weekend of my life, and I’m in no way glad that it happened.. The scariest thing I’ve chosen to do was when I had surgery for Crohn’s-related issues a few years ago. I’m not really glad I did that, either, because it didn’t fix everything. Ha. But everyday, non-medical scary things (like new social situations or my anxieties about traveling), I’m always glad to have faced.
What things make you the most happy, even when you don’t expect them to? -Juana
That feeling when someone really just gets me. When a friend lets me know they’ve been thinking about me. Sincere encouragement. When someone like really laughs at my joke. Sunflowers. Surprise food/treats. Hugs from babies.
What would be your dream job? And what did you study in college? -misswanderer
My dream job would be something where I’m given a lot of freedom to experiment with creativity, but structured enough that I’d have a jumping off point. Sometimes I get overwhelmed if I just have free reign. That’s why this blog is structured the way it is with specified categories for every day. In college, I studied graphic design for a couple of semesters (but I dropped out due to illness before actually learning anything specifically to do with graphic design).
What’s the nicest moment you’ve ever had between you and a fan? – Brittany
When I was sick several years ago, Joanna sent a drawing, a note, and a Doctor Who shirt (that I still wear!) to our P.O. Box. It was the sweetest thing ever. I get to meet her this summer!
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? Where would you live? -Katie
Man, there are many places I’d love to see! The Grand Canyon, The Great Barrier Reef, Europe, Japan… If I could live anywhere, I think I’d choose Colorado, or the Pacific Northwest.
What was the first job you ever had? Did you enjoy it? -Victoria
When I was 12 or 13, I cleaned the empty houses for sale in a subdivision where my dad was the realtor. It was okay. I hate cleaning, but I could listen to music and I was happy to make money, so it wasn’t that bad. My first job working for someone outside my family was at Chick-fil-A, and I really enjoyed it for a long time. I worked there for six years, though, so towards the end I was beyond ready to be done.
What is your biggest phobia? -Julie
Hmmmmm… phobias are, like, irrational, right? Because most of the things I’m afraid of are things that are actually possible (health issues, loved ones deteriorating, friends getting tired of me & my introverted/isolationist tendancies, etc). But my biggest irrational fear is… traffic jams. I’ve had panic attacks and gotten physically sick from being stuck in traffic. Pretty lame, huh.
Would you have gotten into YouTubing if you hadn’t married Josh? -Elijah
I highly doubt it. I mean, I enjoyed a few youtubers in high school, but not so much that I would’ve picked up a camera and become one myself.
How did you get Lulu? -Kirby
We found her on petfinder.com and adopted her from a really sweet foster couple.
Why a dog? -Wendy
Because Josh reeeeally wanted one, and I agreed to it, haha.
What makes you feel the most you? -Emily
Y’know? This is a tough question. I think I feel most like myself when I’m being really silly with Josh. Or when I’m completely alone for a few hours, working on a creative project.
If there was nothing holding you back, what would you want to do with your life? -Emily
Be a mom, travel the world.
Love language? -Emily
Acts of Service and Words of Affirmation
How would you share the gospel with someone? -Rose
Honestly, I just try to live my life in a kind and faithful way, and if someone asks me about my faith, I am honest and answer questions the best I can.. My spiritual gift is not teaching (or communication in general), so if they wanted more than I could explain, I would give them a book or steer them toward someone whose gift is teaching.
What did you want to be when you grew up? -Victory
A singer, a missionary, a ballerina, an astronaut, but I was never very passionate for very long about any of these.
How did you and Josh meet and what was your first date? -Chloe
We met at a birthday party in 2005. Our first date was 3 1/2 years later. We saw The Dark Knight in IMAX, and walked around the Opryland Hotel gardens together. We didn’t even hold hands because Josh was nervous.. it was v cute.
What is it like being in videos and creating them? How long does the process take? -Michelle
It’s my normal, so I’m not really sure how to answer this question. I guess it was strange being in front of a camera the first several times I did it, but it quickly became a normal part of my life and it isn’t a big deal anymore. The process for ME takes only as long as I need to be in a video (so anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours), but for Jordan it takes 2-5 hours to shoot & about an hour to rough-edit, and it takes Josh 2-3 days for the writing, filming, and editing.
