Friday Favorites: Green Tea, Star Wars Day, and Some Encouragement

Photo Fridays are no more! Instead, here’s a list of the best things I’ve come across this week.

img_7421• This Matcha Shake from The Kitchn. I used just a tsp of matcha instead of a tbsp because I know my caffeine limits, a frozen banana because I didn’t have ice, and found that I didn’t need as much honey because the banana adds enough sweetness for me.

• 3 Things You Might Not Know About Proverbs 31 from Rachel Held Evans.

• Kirby’s Pep Talk this week, titled Redefine Perfect, was incredibly encouraging and freeing. Jesus never sinned but do you think he ever made simple honest mistakes?”

• On May the 4th (be with you!), I was reminded of Jon Cozart’s brilliant Star Wars in 99 Seconds song. That guy is a genius.

• Speaking of Star Wars, this charming anecdote from Tumblr about how a YA book lover discovered Star Wars made me laugh out loud.

• 5 Easy Tricks That Will Make You A Better Storyteller from the Patreon Blog.

“Secrets” from Fortunes. None of their original music is on youtube, but it is on Spotify and Apple Music. Here’s a cover they posted so you can hear Karsyn’s gorgeous voice:

Happy weekend, friends!

  1. You used a modified version of my idea!! Thank you, that’s so great. Now I’ve got to make stuff that you’ll think is good enough to share here.

  2. Rachel Held Evans’ explanation of Proberbs 31 seriously changed my life as a Christian woman! Have you read “A Year of Biblical Womanhood”?

  3. I have never heard of matcha. What is it?
I laughed at the idea of Han Solo and Boba Fett having a love story. Poor person. They must have been in shock when they found out what happened between them!

I enjoyed reading the extensive understanding of a Proverbs 31 woman. Very fascinating about the wisdom take on it. I don’t believe women tend normally look in depth into it, right?

This song you posted is beautifully sung. I am going to listen on spotify now. Thanks for the suggestion!
