I don’t know about you, but I woke up this morning in dire need of a pick-me-up. It’s been a heavy week, both personally and nationally.. I’m so tired of all the political bickering and hate mongering that’s all over social media these days. Can the election please be over already?
If you’re in the same boat as I am, here are a few feel-good links to (hopefully) make you smile:
As an incentive to encourage children’s literacy, this barber gives discounts for kids who read out loud to him while he cuts their hair. This is such a great idea! People are awesome.
Tessa Violet released her new EP, Halloway today!! It is so catchy and dreamy. “On My Own” is my favorite. The music video for “Not Over You” also dropped today and it is ADORABLE and FUN! It kinda made me want to dye my hair pink & purple! Haha.. Tessa is just the coolest.
A concerned grandson who couldn’t get in touch with his grandma after Hurricane Matthew found a creative (and yummy!) way to check on her. This story is so sweet.
One of my favorite podcasts right now is I Was There Too. It features interviews with people who had small parts in famous movie scenes. This interview with Anthony Forrest, the actor who played the “These aren’t the droids we’re looking for” sandtrooper in Star Wars was super interesting! I loved hearing behind-the-scenes tidbits about the filming of one of my favorite movies ever. This episode is the first of a three-part Star Wars series on IWTT, and I can’t wait to hear the other two!!
(Speaking of Star Wars, I haven’t watched the new Rogue One trailer yet.. I’m trying to hold out for the movie so that nothing – not even visuals or dialogue- is spoiled for me! We’ll see how long that lasts though..)
What’s the best thing you came across online this week?
